Finally we have made it back to the coast. We started at Carpinteria thanks to a lovely french lady from the tourist info. It needs a French person to get some insider tips in California. Carpinteria is less busy than Santa Barbara and has a very nice campsite on the beach. Continue reading

In Las Vegas I sounded as I’m not a real camper but I’m. Of course I love to have a kingsize bed and a big bathroom but I still prefer to travel with RVs for many reasons. One is that you do not have to adopt to different hotels every second day. The other one is that you do not have to lug around your bags or living out of your bag. But the biggest one is that you are not caged up in a big hotel. Camping means that you stay right in nature and camping with an American RV means that you still have the comfort of a hotel room ( well almost ). You camp on great places and you are just one small step away from nature. Continue reading

After 24h it was time to move on. We came here at lunch time and we left the next day. It was nice to see it but it somehow reminds me on the Märchenwald in Germany I have seen as a kid. I was amazed when I was there as a kid but disappointed when I visited the place again as an adult. To me it seems Las Vegas is just the same.
There are two things I will miss though: the kingsize bed and the bathroom.
