4 Pictures at the Pier

NEX-5 (55mm, f/9, 1/500 sec, ISO200)

No I did not overexpose the shot. Well I did but it was intentional.

I was struck by the strong sunlight and I wanted to have this feeling in the image so I overexposed by at least two to three stops. I used a very simple method to do that. I took the the exposure from the ground, held he shutter knob down halfway than raised the camera and took the image.

On that evening I got a very good run as you can see on the next shots.

NEX-5 (19mm, f/8, 1/320 sec, ISO200)

NEX-5 (37mm, f/8, 1/640 sec, ISO200)

I took all these shots within 15 minutes. And a lot more than just these 4 shots. These are just my personal favorites. And my absolute favorite out of all 5.000 something images I took during this 3 weeks is this:

NEX-5 (19mm, f/11, 1/200 sec, ISO200)

Maybe it looks even more stunning in black and white. I took 3 images in total. When I took the first one I realized that guy running through the frame. So I waited for the right moment till he appeared at the left side and took the shot.

On my old website the image size was limited to 800 pixel. Now it’s 1500 pixel which means the image is four times bigger. And here is the BW version. Conversion done in LR.
