The “Naturhistorische Museum” in Vienna is maybe one of the most spectacular and photographer friendly museum I know. As long as you do not use a tripod, they are fine. I did once but had my good friend Harald with me you works there. Back than it was necessary to use a tripod as my Nikon D200 was no the best low light camera on the planet. But these days are gone! After finishing my USA trip NEX experience I want to post something different. And to make it clearly visible I have chosen another part of the world at a different time of the year.

Saint Peterburg is a beautiful city but people will most likely visit it in summer when the days are almost endless and everybody is on the street enjoying the sun. My first visit in August was like that. Now it’s December and it is wet, foggy and cold. Just like home except that it is also dark thanks to it’s latitude of about 60 degrees. That’s about the same as Helsinki. Instead of the famous white nights all you get is black days. Continue reading

NEXt bring us some lenses please! ( NEX part III )

You already guessed it: To me the Sony NEX cameras are the best mirrorless cameras today. They pack the best sensors in super small, very well made bodies. What more can you ask for? Well, how about some lenses? Sony introduced NEX in 2010. When the NEX 6 will be announced next week it will be NEX camera number 8! They have less lenses available today! Continue reading

Well what are my wishes to Sony? On my old website I wrote that they should give me a high quality 24mm lens ( 35mm ) and I would be in heaven. Well they did but they also made it very high price so I got the 23mm lens from Fuji with a X100 camera attached for free for practically the same price.
