When on vacation we spend most of the time on the countryside. And this trip was not different. Beside our 24 hours in Las Vegas and the two days in San Francisco we were mostly in areas with a very low population density. We both lived in Vienna for almost 20 years before moving out and living in a small town. Cable Car, Cool People and Lefty’s

San Francisco is a great town. I don’t know why I haven’t visited this place earlier in my life. I loved San Francisco when I was a kid. And it wasn’t only me. In the 70s they had “The Streets of San Francisco” on TV. I was too young and not allowed to watch it but I did. I ask to keep the door to my room open because I can not sleep in darkness. Then I stood up from bed, hided behind the door and watched it.

Wide Views of a Wide Country

During the 3 weeks trip through the South West of the USA I got the opportunity to “test” the panorama-mode of the Sony NEX 5. Really wide landscapes are always a problem if you want to capture it in a single image.

The angle of view is to small and the sensor is unable to deal with the the contrast but the biggest difference is simple that if you are there you can take a look around. Continue reading
