Good Food after Horrible Whale Watching

Today was my third and pretty sure last whale watching trip. First was in Canada 2001 for orcas. We have seen orcas but they were far away and the trip was long and it was biting cold. Second was pilot whales at Tenerife. They looked more like big, slow dolphins. But the worst one was here in Monterey for humpback whales. Continue reading

On The Beach Again

I think we stayed at the Marina State Beach RV resort close to Monterey. There is a very big but lonely beach right behind the campsite. I took my Canon 500 plus 70-200 with me just in case that we see dolphins again. There were no dolphins but lot’s of birds. I did some bird shots and I really wished I had a 18-200 for my Sony. In that case I would have left the DLSR in the RV. I’m pretty sure that I will get this lens before my next vacation. Continue reading

There is a certain image that comes to my mind regarding american houses. It’s the image of small white wooden houses with a porch on the front. The image above is one example. Maybe the flowers and everything is a little overdone but this was a small town on the road to Carmel with lot’s of artist. Maybe Kitsch but nice. Continue reading
