What a first day in San Francisco. I can not believe what we have seen. We visited China town, took the cable car to the pier and had lunch at Alioto’s. After lunch we walked on the pier, took the streetcar and walked to Lombard street. After that we took the bus to downtown and walked around again for a long time. At the end we had coffee in a big bookstore in the Nordstrom shopping center. I have no idea how many miles we have covered walking but I think it was a lot. Continue reading

When on vacation we spend most of the time on the countryside. And this trip was not different. Beside our 24 hours in Las Vegas and the two days in San Francisco we were mostly in areas with a very low population density. We both lived in Vienna for almost 20 years before moving out and living in a small town. So in the past there was always a hunger for nature and it is still there but now we also enjoy to visit cities. Continue reading

I have talked about watching “The Streets Of San Francisco” when I was a kid and how great it is to see all this now in real world. To experience how steep are some of the streets are is awesome. San Francisco is a great town. I don’t know why I haven’t visited this place earlier in my life. I loved San Francisco when I was a kid. And it wasn’t only me. In the 70s they had “The Streets of San Francisco” on TV. I was too young and not allowed to watch it but I did. I ask to keep the door to my room open because I can not sleep in darkness. Then I stood up from bed, hided behind the door and watched it.
