Back to RAW only, VSCO film 4

After I tested the Velvia setting of my Fuji X100 I changed to RAW + JPEG. With the Fuji X Pro-1 it was the same. I shot RAW plus JPEG fine and used the Velvia JPEGS most of the time. Still there were a couple of things I didn’t like. So the image above is most likely the last OOC JPEG I will ever post. Continue reading

Three very different cameras – one location.

  • The cameras: The Fuji X100, the Sony RX100 and the Fuji X-Pro 1.

It was also by far my most used camera in 2012 but I doubt that it will be my most used camera in 2013 and the reason is simple: I got myself the Fuji X-Pro 1 for Christmas. Continue reading

Thoughts about Sony RX1 vs. Fuji X-E1. ( Images: Canon 5D + 35L )

Canon EOS 5D (35mm, f/2, 1/2000 sec, ISO100)

I have to admit that I was shocked twice when Sony announced the RX1. The first shock was a very positive one. Finally a really compact full frame camera with a fixed lens. And the fixed lens is a Zeiss 35mm/f2.0 with T* coating. Just perfect! The second shock came within a minute and it wasn’t a positive one. No viewfinder. NO VIEWFINDER!

I can imagine that there was a rather emotional discussion within the Sony marketing department. Obviously the small is everything group won. Continue reading
