This is my new website. Well it is not a website it´s a blog. My first website went online about 11 years ago. I updated it from time to time but within the last 2 years I did not change a thing beside keeping my picture of the month gallery alive. There I posted my favorite picture(s) of the month plus a more or less short story. It took a while to realize that this is nothing but a blog and it would be better to have a blog instead of my website.

Ok. Here it is: My new blog.

This self portrait was shot in an elevator in the Palace of Culture in Warsaw this February. In case that you did not figure out the camera I used here is another one. I used my iPhone to take that one during our vacation in Croatia this June.

If you still have no glue you are most likely not interested in photography. If that´s the case you probably haven´t seen my old website. That´s a shame because it was awesome and now it´s gone! That´s our world – everything is temporary.

Anyway, the camera is a Fuji Finepix X100. Despite the looks it is a modern digital camera with a fixed 2/23mm lens and an APS-C sized sensor which makes the lens a 35mm lens effectively. And 35mm is very likely the most important focal length.

Why I am telling you this? I got my Fuji X100 late last August and since than it has become my favorite camera. I took it on my travels and also on some of my business trips. I took it to concerts and to meeting with friends. So I got the idea to dedicate this blog to this camera.

But then I also enjoy shooting with my Sony NEX 5. Or maybe I will get myself a Fuji X1-Pro or similar camera to replace my DSLR kit. I really love shooting these small cameras. In the past I have travelled with a 15 kg Camera Backpack but the quality of these small cameras make me think whether it´s possible to travel light without compromise.

Because I took some nice shots in great places with my NEX 5 and X100 already I will use my backlog and post my personal favorites here. And because I love traveling this blog is also about being away from home.
