Chimes of Freedom

Some more shots from my last trip in Korea. Nothing special except that those were taken right after a seven day self isolation.

I was still tired and in recovery from Covid-19 but I enjoyed my new freedom. After days of heavy rain it was finally sunny. As a consequence it was very hot and very humid but I was a free man again.

I was just in time for a mass and the monks were chanting but it wasn’t busy though. At this time of the year most people spend their time indoors where the temperature is pleasant. But I was trapped inside a small hotel room with a super small window for a week so there was no way that I would stay inside.

I took some images of the temple and listened to the rhythmic chants of the monk. I also listened to the sound of thousands of cicadas in the trees. They were really noisy but for me it was the chimes of freedom.

I also took some images of the lotus flowers which were in full bloom. Beautiful!

On my way out I saw those warriors made of stainless steel and a very sweet little Buddhist in a lotus flower. Nothing spectacular at all but I remember that I was almost overwhelmed on my first walk after my week in self isolation.

Time to move on to a nearby palace that I haven’t visited on previous trips.
