A little walk in Joshua Tree NP. Hidden Valley trail. Beautiful and the best of all: There are no other people on the trail. That’s the great thing if you walk a couple of minutes away from the parking lots: You are alone.
Traveling through the California I have seen tourist on beautiful spots who did not even leave the car. They stood there on the parking lot, looked through the windscreen for a couple of minutes and drove away. Some even left the engine running. Sightseeing US style.

I think I know why so people go “parking lot sightseeing”. We do it also a lot when in the USA or Canada.
- because it’s possible
- because it saves precious time ( tourists from Europe )
- because they are used to it ( Americans )
But it does’t take a lot of effort to see beautiful things. Just a couple of steps away from the road you can enter a different world. We also did not walk around for hours mainly because 1. it was very hot 2. to save precious time!
But the Hidden Valley trail is a short and easy walk. Just don’t forget to put on your Cowboy hat and bring a bottle of water.
VSCO film 4 again. This time it’s Fuji Velvia.
