From Dawn till Dusk

The early morning walk for breakfast gave us a fake sunrise over the fake Trevi fountain but I guess the maintenance guys were real. It takes a while to pass all the forum shops to get out of the hotel.

I was hungry because the Caesars salad I had at Spago’s was really good but very light compared to our average dinner which was “burger-based” most of the time. Dinner was great but the Gruener Veltliner ( an Austrian white wine ) was too warm. Thank you Wolfgang!

Above image shows my “healthy” breakfast: banana walnut pancakes with maple sirup. My beautiful but smart wife wife went for granola with berries. But who cares! We life only once. If I don’t stop to eat like that life might be shorter than expected. The pancakes were great but I did not finish. It simply was too much.

But back to the sightseeing. In Las Vegas I always got the feeling that there is not much you can do except to gamble, to go shopping or to marry a total stranger. Since I’m not interested in the first two and the later was not an option I proposed to my wife to marry me  again with an Elvis impersonator to sing our wedding song. But she didn’t like the idea so we went for lunch and back to the hotel to relax.

After the break we went out again to go to Fremont street ( next post ). That day I shot almost everything with the 14mm lens. I truly love that lens but I do not love aberrant lines. Thanks to Lightroom 5 that can be corrected in a heartbeat. It really improves the picture. The only thing I need to keep in mind is that I have to crop less tight.
