The last day at the coast we visited the harbour of Santa Barbara.
Because we visited around lunchtime I used to the opportunity to grab some fish for lunch. I’m aware that most likely none of the fish on my plate came from these waters but hell this is not Japan. The Sashimi was still very good and a good break from all the burgers.

After a healthy lunch I was back to bad food choices. Chicken wings that tasted even worse than the looked. And they were overcooked and dry but that’s probably a good idea here where chicken meat is washed with chlorine to maintain food safety.
But there was a funny story that I want to share here: The young cashier asked to see my ID when I ordered a beer. I honestly didn’t expect that and asked hime if he is serious. He was so I showed him my passport. I may add here that I was almost 55 years old back then, too old to be his dad. That was a first to me and it really made my day. I guess I still look very young despite my grey hair.

After the wings and beer it was time for our last sunset on the beach during this vacation. Another beautiful sunset on an almost empty beach in Carpinteria.
One more day in LA before this vacation comes to an end.
