The world is different than before for more than 1,5 years now. A virus has changed almost everything and the life of almost everyone.
Before Covid-19 we were used to travel around, to eat in crowded restaurants, to simply meet people and when we met we either shook hands or hugged and kissed depending on the relationship.
For the last 1,5 years we mostly didn’t anything of the above and so it felt strange to see crowded places and crowded restaurants again. It felt strange only for a short time and then it simple felt good, very good. Life is back! This was the first time since Covid-19 hit that we spent a vacation outside of Austria. It was very badly needed for our head, heart and soul.

It was the first time since my trip to Japan in February 2020 that I saw so many people at one place. It was already busy during the day but it got even more in the evening when the people returned to the narrow alleys of Split from their hotel rooms or their yachts.
We had dinner twice (on two evenings) in a small restaurant that we first visited some years back. It only has a couple of tables and I consider it an insider tip. But Split is full of restaurants. I think the centre of Split is like one big restaurants with different food sections. There is something for everyone and on every budget.
I’m sure we never saw Split so busy before and as our waiter confirmed it has to do with the fact that Spain and Portugal was partly closed because of Covid-19. So tourists stormed Croatia to the point that they run out of their famous Dalmatian squid.

Technically there is not much to say here except that my Fuji again manages to miss focus on the fish and sea food on display. I complained about that already a couple of times. There is something in reflective surface that irritates the autofocus of my Fuji cameras. It also seems that this is independent from the lens. It does it with all lenses. Unfortunately I haven’t checked focus but I still wanted to include the image here.
Regarding lenses it is again mostly the XF 14/2.8R. This is still my all time favourite lens from Fuji. I just recently got a small rectangular metal lens hood for it and finally tossed the old, ugly lens hood the 14mm shares with the 18-55. A true upgrade in handling, size and most of all aesthetics. And since we are almost in Italy we know that to look good is very important.
