Desert, Wide Roads and 29 Palms

29 Palms is a strange name for a town and it is a strange place but I love it.

It is the entry gate for the Joshua Tree NP. One of the most beautiful places I know. The town has little to offer beside a lot of murals, some hotels and a McDonalds restaurant. But its streets are super wide and the surrounding landscape is amazing. A must see place of every trip to the South West of the USA.

Of course we started to enter the park early afternoon because we were not able to wait any longer. The sun was still high and it was extremely hot. The sky was cloudless and there was no shade except in the car. That’s why my wife decided to have a late lunch while I was taking pictures. Every now and then a car was passing by but otherwise it was totally silent. The silence of the desert where you can hear a lizard run. It’s just magic. I guess I’m addicted to it and that’s why I’m keep coming back.
