I knew it before I opened the curtains. It has snowed overnight. Quite a lot. I dug out my car and went to the Zoo.
Winter is the best time to visit the Zoo. There is less foliage and the animals are more active. The ones that are not afraid to go out. And the absolute best time to visit the zoo is after or during heavy snowfall.
I focused mainly on the red pandas but had also the chance to take some images of the giant pandas. While the female and the young panda were sitting in an area where I needed to shoot through glass, papa panda was more cooperative. Well, almost! He was turning his back to the visitors.
But giant pandas are such iconic animals that even if they turn their back on you they still make a great picture.
