Lone Pine

In the afternoon we finally reached Lone Pine. A small town in the middle of nowhere that looks a like an open air museum with all it’s wooden saloons, motels and shops. And I thought it was the time to shoot with my Fuji XP1 instead of the Canon 6D because currently my widest lens is the 14mm on the Fuji. I don’t have a super wide angle zoom for my Canon and the 14mm ( 21 in full frame terms ) is just perfect.

The only issue is that it is really wide for the USA. What I’m trying to say is that you can’t shoot the buildings on the other side of the road because the roads with their very wide lanes ( two in each direction ) and parking lanes on each side are really massive. Even the road through a small town like Lone Pine looks like our Autobahn.

Nice town but we did not go out in the evening. We were tired and decided to go to bed early to make sure that we leave hotel before sunset the next day. The colors of the desert are special early morning.

All images are OOC ( out of camera ) JPEGs, Velvia setting.
