After a light breakfast we went straight to the Omicho market in Kanazawa where I had a second breakfast.
The Omicho market covers many products but it’s mainly famous for fresh fish and seafood. That’s what I came for. Sorry for my wife but it isn’t my fault that she doesn’t like fish as much as I do. Below you saw my first course. Chu toro (medium fatty tuna). It’s my second favourite after Otoro (fatty tuna). Unfortunately another tourist was quicker and took the last one. You can’t always win. My medium fatty tuna tasted excellent too.

After that I had to try grade A5 Wagyu beef. It was served on a wooden stick like chocolate covered strawberries and the price was very reasonable. It tasted fantastic. It was very juicy and soft. My wife ate one piece but I could see that she would have wanted a small slice of bread to go with it but of course there was none anywhere nearby.
Later she got a box of three or four green grapes. Strange thing: those grapes cost the same as the Wagyu beef. Japan is a strange country!

It was a great experience but if I come here again I would choose to visit at lunch time to eat at one of the sushi restaurants.
Time to move on to the Higashi Chaya (the Geisha) district.
