Last time we came here we walked on this lake. This time that was not an option.

Unless you can walk on water of course. This lake should be frozen in January with a layer of ice thick enough for skating. This time the lake is hardly frozen at all. Only close to the shore there was a thin layer of ice covering the clear, turquoise waters.

When I was a boy we sometimes went here for hiking in the summer. We stayed in a hotel nearby, climbed the mountains and sometimes we rent a pedal boat or just went swimming. I remember that the water was very cold even on warm days. I also remember how clear the water was and it still is. According to its website the visibility is 9 meters. Before we went home we saw ice divers. Maybe I should get rid of my skis and get a drysuit and flippers.

I love this place especially in winter with its abandoned waterslide, boat house and cafe.

And now something completely different. An old locomotive or a shunter to be more precise. I found this on the way back home when we stopped at an old train station that now is a beautiful cafe that offers excellent cakes and chocolates. I just liked how it stood there in the later afternoon sun and I was amazed about its condition. At home I learned that this series was built from 1959 to 1978 and that currently 10 are still in operation somewhere. But this one looked like a newly restored museum piece so I doubt it is still in service.
