Every vacation ends. This one will end the day after tomorrow.
No matter how long you travel there is a point where you go back home. There are mixed feelings. You want to stay longer in the endless summer of California but you also miss home. Your friends, your colleagues at work, your house. When your thoughts turn to your home it’s a good time to go home. As simple as that.

Another sign that it’s time to get home is if you spend your time in a shopping centre. We both don’t like shopping except in bookstores or Yodobashi camera (OK, that is just me) so when we go to a shopping centre it is the end of a long vacation it means that we got tired of nature.
This one was crazy though. A mixture of Disneyland and Las Vegas. They even had a ultrashort tramway to move shoppers around.
A tramway and Wiener Schnitzel (image below). Feels like we are already home.

Of course we didn’t go to Wienerschnitzel for dinner. We went to the same sports bar close to our hotel in Santa Monica that we visited at the beginning of our trip almost three weeks ago.
Yesterday we had a great sunset at the sea in Carpinteria. Today we got a fantastic evening sky in Santa Monica. It’s almost like the last Lord of the Rings movie. A vacation with a couple of endings.
