Arches NP. One of the most spectacular landscapes in the South West which is not exactly short of spectacular landscapes.

After the Delicate Arch hike in the morning we were roaming around in the park. Most attractions are literally beside the road like this arch in the picture below.

The landscape is breathtaking, even parking lots look impressive. This is one of of my favourite national parks in the South West.

Today you can still drive around in your own car but I guess in the near future they will start to limit private access or even introduce a shuttle bus system like in the Zion NP. All those amazing places have one thing in common: Everybody wants to see them. So no wonder that they can get very crowded.

If you want to have less people I recommend the Pine Tree Arch trail in the evening. We have been there in 2015 and it was just amazing. Most of the time we didn’t see anybody during the hike and when we arrived at the final arch and viewpoint the only other two hikers just left. So we had the viewpoint just for us. On the way back we saw small all over the place, It was magic. Even in those parks you can still find solitude if we start early or late in the evening and if you stay off the beaten path.

We went back to Moab for a late lunch when I had to take out the camera one more time to take a picture of an RV. And of course if you have a 40ft RV you need to tow a small car around to remain flexible once you settled on your campground. A small car like a massive king cab truck.

I love this country!
