Before we call it a day and head to our hotel in Las Vegas there is one more stop: Bass Pro’s Outdoor World in Las Vegas.

We visited this shop by chance on our first USA trip in 2010. We saw the big, wooden cabin with the flags already from a distance. There was time enough to change the lane and get off the highway to have a closer look.

Since that first visit we revisit the place at least one time on very trip. Maybe not the best shop if you are allergic to hunting but otherwise it’s an experience you simply can’t have in Europe. Each of this mega stores hold more stuffed animals than a solid history of nature museum. The massive lobby already gives you a first impression what to expect inside.

There is a whole lion family, fighting moose bulls and a adult male giraffe and of course many, many more. If you didn’t see any wildlife during your trip so far here is your chance.

But most of all this is a massive outdoor shop where you get literally everything for hunting incl. bows and arrow and even crossbows. Of course there are tons of guns including hand guns and all the magazines. There is everything you might need for fishing or camping or for whatever. We shop for hiking clothes here sometimes though I still prefer REI for that.

But nothing beats the Outdoor world when it comes to decoration. Take a look at the last image that shows an escalator surrounded by fake rocks and stuffed bears. It almost feels like you are in a film set from Jurassic Park.
