SONY DSC-RX100 (15.1mm, f/2.8, 1/200 sec, ISO400)
After I installed VSCO film for Lightroom I went through my favorite portraits. Most of them were shot with my Canon 5D but I also have a lot of Fuji X100 and already some Sony RX100 portraits as well. Although I don’t consider the RX100 to be the best tool for portraits it does a decent job and considered it’s size it does an awesome job.
Below image is a good example. Nothing wrong with it at all and not a bad image to start with. Subject to background separation is as good as it get’s for a compact camera but of course no match to a more serious camera. The “unprocessed” RAW looks a little flat which is the best starting point for post processing. High dynamic range means that the shadows are too light but that’s better than the other way around.

One click on the Kodak 160VC ( vivid color ) and clarity pushed to +10 gets you the shot below. One click on the Kodak 160NC ( neutral color ) + clarity +10 get’s you the image on the top. Plain and simple. I think there might be a better way of post processing but there surely is no easier and faster way.
