We left Monument Valley and continued our trip. The road was wet from the rain and the air was warm and humid. I didn’t expect\u00a0to see any rain at all.<\/p>\n

But it seemed that the rain that had fallen here was very strong. We saw wash outs and we crossed muddy waters.<\/p>\n

I loved the light, the\u00a0fresh green of the bushes in contrast to the red rocks and sand. It was warm and it was very quiet. In between the passing cars there was no noise at all. Something I realized the first time when we drove through Death Valley. The absence of any noise. It is so quiet that you start to hear your heart beat. There are so many places in the South West where you can have that but I will never get tired of it. I spent most of my vacations in sparsely populated landscapes but this is still different. There is no sea, no trees, no birds. There is no source for noise.<\/p>\n

But we didn’t stay for long. We just stopped at the side of the road to take some pictures. There were still a couple of miles to ride before we would reach our hotel.<\/p>\n

After we checked in we went for dinner. We found a nice restaurant close to our hotel. They served good food and the surrounding rocks looked amazing. It seems that it doesn’t matter where you go in this part of the USA you will always find stunning landscapes. What a place!<\/p>\n
