In most places of the world public transport is fast, efficient and safe but boring. In San Francisco you can find a public transport that isn’t fast or efficient or save but it is anything but boring.<\/p>\n

The cable car\u00a0is probably the most iconic public transport today. If you see one in a picture you know its San Francisco. Another great thing about them is that the give your pictures a special touch. The picture above is my favorite. It looks like it is from the 70s but I took it last year in spring. The post processing (standard Velvia setting from VSCO film) helps to strengthen the effect.<\/p>\n

The image below is just the same. It could be from the 70s. Just don’t look to close. If you do you spot the rather uncool cars. Something that didn’t exist back then. They should provide free parking in town for all cars of that area.<\/p>\n

To take those pictures was tricky. I was hanging on the outside clinging myself on the rattling and shaking cable car. It’s a wonderful thing that today such a dangerous way of commuting is still aloud in this part of the world. But of course I’m not getting any younger. As soon as there were less passengers I moved inside and sat down.<\/p>\n

And here comes the travel tipp: Try to visit San Francisco outside of the summer months. They are very\u00a0busy and\u00a0too many tourist\u00a0want to get a ride with the cable cars. A friend told me that they had to wait for a very long time to get a ride. Outside of the tourist high season the cable cars get back to moving the citizens around.<\/p>\n

Of course I had to take some images out of the window of my hotel room again. “I just can’t get enough.” What a view! The Trans America Pyramid on the left and the ocean on the right. There is no need to watch TV if you have\u00a0a view like this.<\/p>\n
