After the temple we went to the sea or to be more precise to the Bay of Bengal. It was too late for a sunset at the sea but I think there is no chance that the sun sets into the sea. I’m on the east coast of India. The only chance to get the sun and the sea in one frame is to take an image of the sunrise. But there is no more sunrise at the coast. Tomorrow I have an early morning flight to Hyderabad.<\/p>\n

But when I left the temple the evening sky was magical so I risked my life and took a couple of shots standing in the middle of the road.<\/p>\n

The last light was gone when I finally arrived at the beach. It was still extremely hot.<\/p>\n

Even though I shot wide open I needed\u00a0ISO 6.400 to get save shutter speeds. In such moments I’m contemplating to get an IS zoom like the new 18-135 IS. Almost the same lens speed on the wide end but plus a 5 stop image stabilization. With the zoom I could have taken the same shot at 1s instead of 1\/30. To shoot handheld at 1 second! 1 second! And as a result with ISO 200 instead of ISO 6.400. That’s base ISO in the middle of the night. Well not exactly ISO 200 because the lens is only f3.5. So it will be something like ISO 250.<\/p>\n

That’s absolutely amazing. To take a shot in the middle of the night close to base ISO. I guess I have to get the lens!<\/p>\n
