Another mountain post. Another post where I used nothing but the Panasonic 14-140 II lens. Ramsau, Styria again. The big mountain is the Dachstein. It’s 2.995 meters high. Not the highest but one of the most beautiful mountains of Austria.<\/p>\n

I took the pictures directly from the main road. No need to hike for hours. The Dachstein is easily accessible for everyone. With the 14-140 it’s easy to zoom in and focus on a detail. This is very helpful in landscape photography. That’s why a good tele lens is as important as a wide angle lens for landscapes. In some cases it is even better. If there is no foreground subjects it’s better to compress the scene by using a longer lens.<\/p>\n

I shot some of my favorite landscape shots with 70-200 zooms. If you look at the EXIF data you can see that all but one image have been taken with a focal length of 80mm or longer ( focal length multiplied by 2 because of the m43 crop factor of 2 ).<\/p>\n

That’s what makes the 14-140mm the perfect landscape lens. A one lens solution. No need to switch lenses. More time to focus on the subject and the light.<\/p>\n
