No this is no Apple bashing. I have an iPhone Xs, a large iPadPro and I’m writing this on my smaller MacBook Pro.<\/p>\n

So it’s obvious that I love their products. I just like how they work or better that the simply work. When I used to have a Windows PC the stupid thing screened for viruses or updated that stupid virus program all the time. And when it wasn’t busy doing that I needed to defrag its hard disc to avoid that it becomes too slow for any meaningful work.<\/p>\n

My first Mac, a 15 inch MacBook Pro with graphic card, changed everything. I finally worked on my images instead of my computer. I exchanged it in late 2016 when Lightroom became too slow for smooth work and I feel no need to update the current one. With my phones my update cycle is also rather long compared to some of my friends. I went from 4 to 6 to Xs. In short: good products!<\/p>\n

During this vacation I finally updated my iPhone 6 to the iPhone Xs mainly because of new camera and passed my 6 to my wife. It replaced her iPhone 4 which still worked fine. So again: very good products. No problem with batteries or other things. Of course we are no heavy users. We still have a life. We still prefer to meet friends in the real world.<\/p>\n

As much as I like their products, they are still just devices. Not more. Of course it is nice to have the internet in my pocket and a music player and a camera and a torch, my calendar and address book. Shazam when I hear a song that I don’t know or when I need to google if an actor or a singer is still alive. Of course I don’t want to get back to encyclopaedias and telephone books, I’m not a mad man. You can’t turn back time. I’m still happy that I grew up in a time long before those things were around.<\/p>\n
