At the end of a three week vacation you are simply too tired to make big plans. What still works is to go for a walk.<\/p>\n

So we went for a walk in San Francisco. The sun was shining, the sky was blue and the light was fantastic.<\/p>\n

I don’t know why but the light here is really something special. I think it has to do with the light reflections in the windows of the sky scrapers. It is just different and there is this mixture of old and new architecture, the different styles and the bold colours. This is not not just another desert of glass and concrete like the many of the big cities in developing countries and it doesn’t feel like you are in a museum either like in many cities in Europe.<\/p>\n

That is what makes this place so special for me.<\/p>\n

I’m rather lazy when it comes to switching lenses but I’m surprised that every single shot of this series was shot with the XF 14\/2.8 R. It’s still my favourite lens from Fuji. Small and light and extremely versatile. I also have the XF 16\/1.4 WR which is a fantastic lens too but I prefer the 14mm.<\/p>\n

Funny thing is that I always wanted a 16mm lens but when Fuji released the XF 14\/2.8 R in \u00a0early 2013 I got this lens instead. I thought that I would replace it when a 16mm lens would come out. But I fell in love with the wide view. Now Fuji will release an XF 16\/2.8 WR soon. A very nice and compact lens. Maybe even smaller than my 14\/2.8. And it will have the same nice aperture ring of my 23\/2. An aperture ring that doesn’t start to rotate when a fly lands on it. And it will be weather sealed too.<\/p>\n

Still no sale – sorry. An updated XF 14\/2.8 WR with a nice small rectangular lens shade would be a different story.<\/p>\n
