Sometimes it takes a while till I recognize the potential of an image. These images are a good example. Shot more than a year ago in my first real shooting with my brand new Fuji X100 I wasn’t very happy with these photos.<\/p>\n

I don’t know why because I loved the location. I loved the beautiful old oak wood locker and the old chair in the background and the wonderful natural light that came from the large window. Maybe it was because I was a little too close on the first shot or that one of the shots isn’t critically sharp because of the shutter speed but I think the main reason was the rather flat look of the original files.<\/p>\n

Good thing is that I shot RAW as I always do and so I got the chance to post process these images today. Sometimes this is almost like having the chance to take the images again. Of \u00a0course I’m still too close in the first shot and there is some distortion visible but I’m happy now with the final result. I love the colors and the tones.<\/p>\n

There is a lot of discussion about JPEG vs RAW today. Partly because Fuji cameras producing very nice JPEG images but mainly because of the compatibility problems of the X-Pro1 and X-E1 RAW files with Lightroom and almost every other RAW converter today people are switching back to JPEG.<\/p>\n

For me this is not an option. As long as Fuji did not sort out this issue I will not get a Fuji X-E1. I really think it is an impressive camera but the “RAW problem” is a show stopper for me. But today I have seen a rumor that Fuji is working with Adobe to solve the problem. Let’s hope that they will have a solution soon.\"\"<\/a>FUJIFILM FinePix X100 (23mm, f\/2.8, 1\/60 sec, ISO800)
