Even better than the Acropolis itself. Well almost. At least in the summertime when thousands of tourists are stuck in between the Patheon and the Dionysos temple at 45 degrees Celsius. This is one of the few museum where it is not allowed to take pictures.

Some Old Stuff, X100 high ISO JPEGs again

Will I become a JPEG shooter? I don’t think so. I just like the idea to have a file that I can change years after I took the image without any loss of data but I have to admit that the JPEG from my X100 is extremely impressive. This is especially true for the Velvia setting. The images just get the punch and boost in colors they need. The effect is not overly aggressive but it really makes a lot of difference to the original RAW file. Continue reading

Today there is no 150MP full frame camera. Even the 36MP sensor of the Nikon D800 is considered too much for most of the lenses. You need the best lenses and technique to make the camera shine. The RX100 sensor scaled up would result in a 150 MegaPixel full frame camera so it needs a very good lens and good technique to get most out of it. Continue reading
