Wonderful World, Krka Waterfalls, Croatia

Summer is almost gone. Long, cold winter nights are in front of us. Today might be the last hot day in Austria and I have no problem with that. This summer was extremely hot and I am really looking forward for some fresh and cold air.

It was hot in June too when we traveled Croatia. There was a massive heat wave in the second half of our trip with temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius. The perfect time to swim in a cool lake. This is something you can do at the Krka waterfalls. But we did not bring our swim wear to the trip and hiked through the park.

And that was a good thing. It is such a wonderful place. It would have been a serious waste to just take a swim. You walk on wooden foot bridges and underneath you have crystal clear water filled with schools of fish. It is breathtaking. This was the first time for a while that I missed having a filter. I stopped using filters a couple of years ago but this time a polarizing filter would have worked wonders.

Anyway it was a great trip and I’m sure that I will come back some day. Most of the images this day I shot with the NEX and the kit zoom. Sometimes I prefer the flexibility of a zoom and on the foot bridges there was no way to zoom with my feet. NEX-5 (46mm, f/9, 1/400 sec, ISO200)
