Cat People

I have to admit that I never was a cat lover. I loved dogs. It always seemed strange to me to have a cat. Well that changed.

It changed because the big, old tomcat of our neighbor one day decided that we should become best friends. Since that day I love cats too. We still don’t have our own cat but there is something we have to leave for our retirement. A cat and a dog.

Those images I took a couple of months ago. There are two other blog posts covering the same subject: Cats and Dogs and Cute Killer where I used my my M43 camera or my full frame DSLR.

For these images I shot my Fuji X-T1 which has one big advantage above the other two cameras: The tilt screen. Thanks to the tilt screen I was able to keep seated while Lucy using me as a headrest. Of course she was curious of the little black thing in front of her nose but she wasn’t afraid, she looks very relaxed in these shots. Of course framing is far from perfect because I had some problems with the fact that everything works differently if you take a picture that way. In the last shot I even cut off her paws. I was so focused on the expression that I didn’t watch the lower edge of the frame but the shot is too nice to be thrown away.

I guess I’m lost. I have become a cat lover.
