Well what are my wishes to Sony? On my old website I wrote that they should give me a high quality 24mm lens ( 35mm ) and I would be in heaven. Well they did but they also made it very high price so I got the 23mm lens from Fuji with a X100 camera attached for free for practically the same price.

But since my wishing works so well here they are:

• a built in viewfinder
• a built in flash ( I’m not a flash shooter but sometimes it’s handy to have one )
• faster and more reliable AF
• a little less shutter noise
• better Auto-ISO implementation
• better battery life

Well it seems that the upcoming NEX 6 ticks a lot of these boxes. Viewfinder, flash and better AF are already confirmed. Even a faster frame rate and wireless. They even made a screen that flips wide enough to allow self portraits! I almost lost my nose on the red square in Moscow this February because I need to retake an image of me in front of the Basil cathedral at night over and over again till the framing was right.

I can’t wait till this camera is in the shops. It looks like a real winner to me. How can Canon think that they are able to compete with that. Even the cheaper NEX 5 R is out of reach for their EOS M. And thanks to it’s tilt screens every NEX is better feature wise too.

The Sony NEX 5 is one of the most enjoyable cameras today and it’s best feature is that you can give it to anybody and he/she is able to get good images with it. It’s kind of idiot proof in full auto thanks to face detection AF and reliable auto exposure. This is the main difference between the NEX 5 and my other favorite camera today the Fuji X100 but that’s another story that will be told here soon.
