Rickshaw Ride in Old Hanoi, Vietnam

Sunday. Instead of staying in bed to relax I thought it might be better to do some sightseeing instead. I can relax when I’m home again. I wanted to see the center of Hanoi again during daytime.

First we tried to walk but there is no space. You either walk on the road and got hit by a car or scooter or you do what we did: get a rickshaw and enjoy the ride.

Technically it was a lot simpler than shooting in the dark. I stopped the lens down to f8 and set shutter speed to 1/125s. I would have preferred 1/250s but even though it was day it was rather dark in the narrow streets. If you check the ISO values on these shots you can see that it goes up to ISO 1600.

It’s amazing how much load they put on their scooters. Some SUVs have a lower load capacity than that. Some more images on that topic in my next post.

On that day I finally gave up to use the OVF when shooting the 14mm lens. For me it is impossible to do critical framing with it. The viewfinder is partly blocked by the lens and it also shows not the full frame because the FOV of the 14mm is too wide. How sad is that! The favorite feature on my favorite camera does not work when I use my favorite lens.
