Snow in Austria and tons of it. This January we had lots of snow and a cold wave that lasted for more than 2 weeks. So the snow came and stayed even in Vienna which is very rare. I can’t remember when there was a white christmas though. The image below was taken around christmas. The snow that had fallen before melted away just before christmas.

After the 8th of January we put our christmas tree away. But instead of cutting it down I placed it on our patio. When the snow came it looked great. Even better than he looked when he was inside with all the light chains and glitter.

The snow came late this winter as always but this time it was massive. We got more than 30 cm of snow in Vienna and we ( just about 20 minutes outside ) got half a meter! Beautiful! And it stayed. It was magic. It was like winters used to be when I was a kid. It’s long gone.

Some real high ISO shots here in poor light. ISO 6400 with the X-Pro 1 and also one ISO 2500 with the Sony RX100. A compact camera! Modern times for sure not only regarding the weather.
