Better Days

The Wigmam Motel in Holbrook, Arizona. It’s the second time I stopped here. Too early for a good sunset picture but I have made that in 2015.

In 2015 I left our hotel on my own just to take some pictures of the sunset. Back then it rained when we arrived and there was a small chance that the sun would come out last second. So I drove down to the Wigwam Motel and I got lucky to get this image.

This time we arrived too early for sunset but because we traveled all the way down from Ouray, Colorado I was not willing leave the hotel again for sunset images. So I focused on the concrete wigwams and the cool cars instead.

We didn’t have a room here and I feel that my modern “Made in Japan” rental car would have been out of place even though it sports a V8 engine.

Don’t get me wrong I was happy that I had the big Infinti for all those long rides but there is no way to deny that those US cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s look so much cooler. But I think I have said this here already a couple of times. I would love to have one of those as a car for those sunny summer days. I would listen to Bruce Springsteen and ride into the sunset.
