Somewhere in Colorado lies Montrose. Our base to visit the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. Another first in this vacation.

Maybe you realized that I just jumped back a year to 2018. I still haven’t finished to post my images from that vacation. It’s about time to do that.

We didn’t spend a lot of time in Montrose. Just a short walk in the center and a visit to an outdoor shop where I finally found a pair of Merrell sandals in my size. And this old SUV with the aggressive duck on the bonnet. Ready for a fight! A rather cool way to pimp your ride.

The town looked really wild west.

Like in many small towns in Colorado the truck is the vehicle of choice or at least an SUV. The SUVs they have in common with Germany and Austria. Well that and the Oktoberfest it seems.
