Jet lag can be a horrible thing. It can keep you up all night or make you stay up in the middle of the night. On our vacation it’s great because we get up before sunrise.
Like this morning in Las Vegas when we left the hotel early to get to the Valley of Fire State Park. It’s always good to arrive there rather early because before lunch time the park is less busy, you can see some wildlife and temperatures are less extreme.

When traveling in the South West of the USA sometimes you get the best shots by shooting straight out of car while driving. Of course my wife shoots those images with very few exceptions when I want to have the drivers perspective. Normally I had a small camera for that like the Sony NEX 5 but this time I just used my Fuji X-Pro2 plus the XF 16-55/2.8 WR. I rather bulky setup that still perfectly fitted into the compartment underneath the armrest of our rental car.
I just loved our car on this trip. An Infiniti QX80. A massive, full size luxury SUV. It combines the best of both worlds: a big and powerful V8 but made in Japan. When I returned from our trip my Volvo XC60 felt like a mini cooper for a couple of days.
