Boring Blue

The picture above tells two things.

First: After three weeks of burgers and other fast food I made a pathetic attempt to save some calories. Second: my pale skin has been transformed to a bold, dark brown that is only seen in Austria on retired people or ski instructors.

As long as you still have to work in an office all day there is no chance that you get such a tan.

It’s obvious that we have winter here while I write those lines. End of February. The days are getting longer but it’s still more than a month before spring. This week I had to scrape the ice from my car every single morning expect today when it rained.

I think I have to move to California permanently.

We just love the landscape and the solitude of the South West but of course it’s also this cloudless, blue sky that got us hooked. Whenever I look at the images that I took during our vacations here they all have this cloudless, blue sky in common. Or at least 90% of them.

Of course a true landscape photographer will tell you that a cloudless blue sky is just boring. Maybe that’s true but I will take boring blue over dark and grey any day.
