Sushi To Bratwurst

Sometimes things change fast. From a magic sunset on the beach in California back to my life at home or like in this case from Sushi in Japan back to Bratwurst in Germany.

The very last chance for me to eat Sushi in Japan. Haneda airport in Tokyo. Not as good as my excellent Sushi dinner in Osaka two days before but still far ahead of everything I can get when I’m back in Austria. All images taken with my iPhone Xs and zero post processing on the sushi images because they look most natural and true to life untouched.

I ate more plates of course but forgot to take images of my food at the beginning. I’m still not used to it. I’m not a food blogger after all. I’m also not used to take images with my phone but the new iPhone Xs changed that. Finally it doesn’t feel strange to use my phone to take images. Don’t get me wrong I still prefer to use a real camera but sometimes a phone is just a lot more discreet.

Taking pictures of my food is such an example. Of course I could have used my camera for those shots but I really preferred to shoot with my phone here.

I’m always happy if my plane is a Boeing 747. There is nothing like it. And it’s my age. It as its first flight in 1969. Imagine that! It was the first of the jumbo jets and it’s still the most beautiful one. The Airbus A380 might be more comfortable and a lot quieter but it’s and ugly bird in comparison.

The whole week the weather was terrible but on the day I left Japan the sky was cloudless. My seat was just above the wing so I got the opportunity to take some nice shots of Tokyo during takeoff. The biggest city on earth.

A couple of pictures of the sunset followed by dinner and followed by some sleep. It’s a long way from Tokyo to Munich.

When I landed I was hungry again. I skipped a meal on the plane and since I had another flight before I get home I decided to eat at the airport. Being in Germany the choice was obvious.
