Next Stop Shake Shack, Las Vegas

After the maybe shortest night ever on vacation we arrived in Las Vegas. I think we have done something wrong. Usually you should have your shortest night here.

The reason for the short night was the heat in our hotel room at Furnace Creek inside the Death Valley NP and the fact that we wanted to experience the sunrise at Zabriskie point. It was worth it! But now we were exhausted and looked forward to a cool room.

This time is was the MGM since the Caesars Palace was rather pricey. We have stayed in Las Vegas many times before. In the Tropicana (right behind the red Mustang in the image below) during our first trip where we were traveling with an RV (The Tropicana was one of the few hotels that offered an open car park). Why a hotel when you have an RV? Because the hotel room is cheaper than the RV park in Las Vegas!

We also stayed in the Caesars Palace (most of the time), The Paris Las Vegas and The MGM. The MGM has one big advantage over the Caesars Palace now. It’s much closer to Shake Shack, probably the best burger chain restaurant and one that is licensed to serve beer.

So after we got fresh we went straight there for late lunch/early dinner.

But no matter the time this is a busy place. There are not too many of those burger restaurants yet but it’s growing fast. The last time when I was in Japan I saw a newly opened Shake Shack right beside my hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo!

The Wait:

But back to Las Vegas. You get a buzzer device where an alarm goes off if your meal is ready. We were half through our beers and I started to fear that the device was broken when it finally started buzzing. And here it is after what felt like an endless wait.

It doesn’t look like much but it tastes great. A perfectly medium burger, nice and juicy! I think it even tastes better than an In-N-Out Burger. Now I want one but there is no chance. Even though there are Shake Shack burger restaurants all over the world now for some strange reason there is none in Central Europe – yet. I want one now but I still have to wait for another couple of weeks. The wait, again!
