In May I spent a week in Japan. Of course I ate only Sushi and Ramen but at the end of my trip I had to eat something else. Yakitori Time!
Yakitori, the ultimate fast food. Japanese skewered chicken but unlike the skewers that we used to eat in Europe they are much more than just meat and some onions on a stick. Literally all parts of the chicken are prepared either salty or salty and sweet one charcoal fire right in front of you.
Liver, heart, small intestines, chicken gizzard, cartilage, chicken skin, ovary and chicken tail. Of course I had to explore them all but my clear favourites are: liver, chicken skin and the tail. And the liver is perfectly prepared as you can see on the small drop of blood on the plate in the last picture.
Japan is food heaven and there is so much more than Sushi and Ramen. Next time I know.
