Wish We Were Here

This year we didn’t spend our vacation in the USA, unlike the last four years. I already miss it but I’m not done posting picture from our trip in 2016.

After the early morning with the sea elephants we drove South only to stop again for a walk on the beach in Morro Bay. We have passed this place before in two of our previous trips but we never stopped. It was just a small town with a massive rock in the ocean and a massive power plant. But it is much more than that. It’s a wonderful place.

A truly beautiful beach with lovely small beach houses. I consider myself very lucky to live in a beautiful house just outside of Vienna, Austria. It’s surrounded by forest and everything is lush even in a hot summer. It’s close to perfect except that there is no sea. I have to admit that I’m a little jealous when I pass by those pretty beach houses and I wonder how live would be here. I guess rather nice.

For this little beach walk I took nothing but my Fuji X Pro-2 plus the SF 55-200 OIS. It’s so liberating to sling this small combo on my shoulder. No heavy rucksack full of camera gear. Just one camera with one lens. The only thing is to make sure that the battery is fully charged. My X Pro-2 munches through a battery like crazy especially in bright sunlight on a beach. At least the EVF is nice and bright and easy to see.

This small camera lets me enjoy those walks on the beach even more. No way that I will go back to full frame.
