Standing at the Arabian Sea

Standing at the sea is special. Standing at the sea in the winter feeling a warm breeze is magic.

I took those shots early December in Mumbai, India. Close to Nariman point looking across Back Bay. In the background Raj Bhavan and Malabar Hill – in the foreground the Arabian Sea, flat like a mirror.

When I stood there I was thinking about the cold and dark winter waiting for me at home. It was my last day in Mumbai. The last chance for me to stand at the sea for months.

Now it’s end of January. I’m back home in Austria. The days are still short and it’s very cold. The coldest January since 30 years. I used to love the winter and the cold but now it seems that I’m not used to it anymore.

I’m freezing and I want to go back. Back to the sun. Back to the sea.
