Some business trips are different. Most of the times a business trip means that you go somewhere where you have been already before a couple of times. Most of the times it is a place that is not even remotely of any interest. And if it’s winter it is very likely cold, grey and wet. In the wintertime my trips to Russia or Romania were a real highlight because there winter means real winter and I love that.

In the past I only took my iPhone or compacts to concert because usually it is not allowed to take picture or to shoot movies. This great concert was no different: No pictures and no recording of the event! But nobody seems to care about all the smart phones. People used their smartphones to shoot images and movies. I know that movies can be really impressive even in low light but I also know that the images you get when using your smartphones in low light are crap. Continue reading

The most important factor in traveling photography is: Luck! I have been to Moscow a couple of times before in the winter but it was always too warm thanks to global warming. I think I have said that already. But it fits as this post is the second part of “Blue Hour At The Red Square” I posted about two weeks ago. It was the third night in Moscow. St. Valentin’s day.
